Seeking low-cost evidence-based therapy for anxiety and depression?
UCLA is running a study that is designed to understand how treatments work. The therapy that you would receive includes components and therapeutic strategies that have been demonstrated to be effective for problem areas of anxiety and depression and involve examining thoughts and modifying behaviors.
Individuals who are seeking treatment for anxiety, depression, and stress, are eligible for the study if they are between the ages of 18 to 65, are English speaking, are not currently suffering from major medical conditions, and are either unmedicated or stabilized on medications.
Interested participants should leave their contact information (i.e., name, phone number, best times to call) at (310) 206-9191 (a voice answering machine). Participants are then phoned by study personnel from the Anxiety and Depression Research Center (ADRC) and asked a few simple screening questions.
Treatment is conducted one on one, 17 twice weekly visits (at the UCLA Psychology Clinic) across 9 weeks. Assessments are conducted prior to beginning treatment, midway through treatment, at completion of treatment and 1 month later. These assessments include a battery of self-report questionnaires and computerized tasks.
